The Region 1 Prevention Resource Center (PRC) assists schools and communities in a pro-active, prevention-based approach to reducing the risk of alcohol and drug abuse.  The PRC is one of 13 centers located in Arkansas. Funding is provided by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health Services, Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention in Little Rock. Services include a clearinghouse of free alcohol, tobacco and other drug-prevention (ATOD) materials, prevention-related resources and a loan library of audiovisual and curriculum materials. The PRC staff promote and offer prevention-oriented training and educational workshops for Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington county schools and communities. In addition, the staff provides technical assistance in community and coalition assessment, ATOD program development, grant writing, survey data collection, collaboration and coalition building.  The PRC has access to several online information systems for additional resources, information and other prevention-related support.
