VETERANS ADMINISTRATION


Decision Point Inc. currently works in partnership with the Veteran's Administration - Mental Health Substance Abuse Center (SAC) program located in Fayetteville Arkansas.  The purpose of the program is to enhance the community capacity to deliver evidence-based services to homeless individuals with substance abuse or co-occurring substance abuse and mental health illness in northwest Arkansas.  Decision Point Inc. provides concurrent housing community and life skills support for veterans participating in the VA's SAC program. 


The global goals and objectives of the project are as follows:


Objective 1: To expand and enhance the continuum of treatment services for homeless veterans with substance abuse disorders, or co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness.


Objective 2: To improve outcomes for homeless veterans with substance use disorders, or co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness. 


Objective 3: To sustain the enhanced and expanded continuum of treatment services for the target population beyond the clinical sponsorship period.


The partnership program consists of daily treatment groups and individual sessions offered at the VA and evening recovery and housing support offered at the Decision Point campus in Springdale.  The average length of the program is 28 days with opportunity for continued care provided by the professional treatment staff at Decision Point.  After-Care, Case Management, and additional drug/alcohol treatment sessions are provided for up to six months for those that wish to receive long term support.
